3 Things To Do In Maple Ridge This Summer

Share Article

Hello!

With all the beautiful weather we’ve had so far this summer in Maple Ridge why not check out some of these amazing places that you cannot find anywhere else!

Cliff Falls

Cliff Falls is the focal point of Kanaka Creek Regional Park. The park is the perfect location for families to picnic and enjoys easy walking trails. The trail starts from the picnic area near the waterfalls.

Bell-Irving Hatchery is another attraction in Kanaka Creek Regional Park. You can reach the hatchery by trail from Cliff Falls or directly by road from 256 Street. The hatchery is home to a variety of salmon throughout the year and offers free tours on weekends between 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm.

Entrance to Cliff Falls is through Cliff Park at Dewdney Trunk Road and 251 Street.

Malcolm Knapp Research Forest

The Malcolm Knapp Research Forest has a series of hiking trails that are maintained by the Faculty of Forestry at UBC. Pick up a map at the office building by the gate as there are a variety of trails to hike in the area. Good for all skill levels.

Located 14500 Silver Valley Road, Maple Ridge.

Lastly my personal favourite:

Hayward Lake

If you are looking to go hang out at the beach or enjoy a nice walk through nature you have to check out Hayward Lake! This lake is great for paddleboarding, kayaking and picnics. They even have a dog’s only beach. Overall a great place to spend the day when it is hot out!

Located off of Dewdney Trunk Road.
